February winding down…are you ready for March madness?

26 Feb

Taylor Resources Writing winds down the month with a look back at February’s highlights and announces the second edition of the Podcast: Marketing Monday…coming up next week!

Wow, I can’t believe here we are almost at the very end of another busy February with March right around the corner. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some March madness (and Spring of course) here in the Southern United States!

Overall, things have been great at Taylor Resources Writing…in addition to having one of my short stories published on Work Life Group, I have been working on new projects including career articles for which I have been interviewing experts like Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of FlexJobs. Look for upcoming published articles surrounding the topic of telecommuting!

In addition to the unexpected snow fall we enjoyed here in South Carolina, this month I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside  some inspiring entrepreneuers who are furiously building their businesses in 2010, like the super-talented Social Media expert Michelle Salater of Written by Sumer. Lots of great brainstorming and marketing campaigns going on there!

Along with warmer weather, March is going to be a longer month which allows me to maximize writing opportunities for the benefit of my clientelle. I’m still offering my article writing special which can be found on my website, if you are in need of fresh content.

Article Writing Spring Special!

Also, have just recorded the second edition of my podcast “Marketing Monday” which will be available for your listening pleasure on, yep you guessed it…Monday! This time, the sound is much better and thanks to a brand new microphone, no more buzz in the background. So it should be much more fun to listen to and I hope you can get some helpful tips from it. P.S. If you missed the first one, just click here.

As always, just want to thank my wonderful clients for yet another fantastic month and looking forward to a prosperous one ahead!

Spring inspired writing projects this week

21 Feb

As is normally the case during the early part of Spring, things really pick up with intensity at Taylor Resources Writing!

I am as busy as ever with many writing projects that keep me inspired and looking forward to the season ahead. This week’s projects include a set of career and business articles, an interview for a career topic article for a magazine and fresh web content for an outdoor furniture guide. Just in time for Spring as it rolls it’s sleepy head out from under the blanket of Winter snow!

While here in the Southeast we enjoyed a couple of days of this actual white fluffy stuff recently, that has all passed and signs of the renewal of nature are starting to appear. I’ve been enjoying getting out into the clean air more often for my morning walks, a time that I use to reflect and brainstorm new ideas. There’s nothing like the bright sunshine and crisp morning breeze to get the mind working! Thank goodness for my iphone which is my little portable “office” that makes it easy to capture those moments in between writing projects.

Oh, and one more thing….I want to remind everyone that I am still booking spots for my $15 artricle writing special for Spring. If you have some ideas for your blog or website and have been finding it difficult to get to them – why not take the pressure off yourself and let an experienced writer do them for you?

Toronto employment site asks Taylor Resources to write blog posts

18 Feb

This week, I am very pleased to announce that I’ve been asked to write a few new blog posts for one of Canada’s top career websites:, Toronto’s Local Job Board! posts the best jobs in over 75 categories for professionals in the greater Toronto area.

This is every exciting as I thoroughly enjoy writing on career topics for the benefit of job seekers everywhere. While I am researching, I am finding that there are some promising statistics that indicate that the jobless rate is falling in the Toronto region and that there are a good number of jobs available currently in Ontario as well. That’s excellent news!

Here in the USA, the national unemployment rate recently dipped slightly below 10% . In addition, there are steps worldwide to increase jobs in sustainable energy efforts. All of these factors combined may indicate that we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as more jobs becomming available this Spring.

So, what do you think? Are you starting to see signs that employment is improving in your community? I would be very interested in hearing what’s going on in your region….feel free to leave your comments below.

Work Life Group Chooses Tess C. Taylor’s Inspirational Career Story as One of the Top 50 Stories!

10 Feb

( February 07, 2010 — WORLD WIDE WEB, February 07, 2010 (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) —

In this job market, it’s refreshing to hear about the career achievements of determined Americans, especially those who have reinvented themselves in order to pursue their dreams. Work Life Group, a career resource organization, recently held a contest for writers to share their inspirational stories about career transformations.

Tess C. Taylor, a writer from Charleston, South Carolina, submitted her story entitled “Creating True Beauty in the World”, which was picked as one of the top 50 stories. The story details how Eugean Taylor, a talented artist from Charleston, South Carolina, has been able to use his talents to transform a failing graphic design career into a thriving role as an art teacher.

After earning his MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design, during the post 9:11 period, Eugean Taylor found himself searching desperately for a job as a graphic artist. After taking a series of part time jobs in copy centers, sign shops and even supporting himself and his family by working nights at a local movie theatre, it seemed his career would never take flight. That’s when he was approached by a man at the local art show who told him he should consider becomming a teacher.

Tess C. Taylor, who is Eugean’s wife, was inspired to share the story about her husband’s journey to finding himself through his talents and how he has contributed to the Charleston community as a result. You can read the story and vote for the story at the Work Life Group’s website.
